Fruit acid and trichloracetic acid (TCA) peels are used to improve the radiance of dull skin. The product is applied to make-up-free skin and will cause tingling. Depending on the product used, you will be red after treatment. This redness can last from a few hours to a few days. With trichloracetic acid peels, the skin will peel for two or three days. Several sessions are usually necessary.
The picosecond laser and the fractional CO2 laser are used to make a more even peel than with chemicals. They will smoothen the skin and give a nice radiance.
The skin cannot be tanned, and the treatment is carried out without anaesthetic. Sun exposure can resume four weeks after the treatment using an SPF50 sunscreen. This treatment is suited to phototypes 1 to 3.
Prior consultation with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon is compulsory. Together, you and your doctor will assess which treatment is best suited to your needs and what the possible side effects might be. Based on this discussion, the doctor will also provide a quote.
