This is performed by injecting AethoxysclerolR, a sclerosing product, into varicose veins and varicosities. Depending on the size of the vessels, a higher or lower concentration will be used. When treating exceptionally fine varicosities, you may feel some tingling. Then, you will need to wear support stockings for five days. Some light bruising may occur, but this disappears naturally within roughly two weeks. Usually, several sessions are necessary.
This kind of treatment is carried out in winter: sun exposure is damaging as it can cause hyperpigmentation of the skin along the treated vein for up to six weeks after the last injection. Sclerotherapy can be combined with a session of long-pulsed Nd:Yag laser treatment.
Contraindications: taking anticoagulants, pregnancy and breastfeeding, allergy to AethoxysclérolR, spontaneous hyperpigmentation after sclerotherapy.
Prior consultation with a dermatologist is compulsory. Together, you and your doctor will assess which treatment is best suited to your needs and what the possible side effects might be. Based on this discussion, the doctor will also provide a quote.
